Happy Water

1 cup thinly sliced fruits or veggies
could include any 1 or 2 of the following: oranges, lemons, cucumber, limes, fresh pineapple, calamansi, kumquat, or starfruit
mint or basil leaves
raspberries or sliced strawberries
ginger root
sliced paper thin - optional
1/2 gal filtered water

This idea was inspired by a refreshing foot bath at a lovely spa in Vietnam, and by the water containers in a hospital cafeteria in Hawaii. The variations are endless and really add a special touch to "ordinary" water.
Wash and thinly slice chosen ingredients. Tear some mint leaves OR basil leaves (not both).
Add a few berries if you wish. If using ginger, add a few thin slices. Put all this is in a large glass jar or bottle.
Fill the jar with filtered water. Refrigerate.
To serve, pour Happy Water over ice in a glass. Garnish with a slice of whatever is in the water.
Refill the jar with filtered water. Happy Water keeps for 3 days in refrigerator and gets better over time.
